Greeting from Fausto and Laura,  February 2010

We have a place for the youth center!!!!  How wonderful to be able to share that with you.  It has been a long process and we are very grateful to the many of you who have been praying for us.  If we shared with you the many places we almost found and then had something happen, well you would have a nice size book.  Praise God for the place we have now!

It is less then a block away from our house, it isn’t connected to any other buildings so the noise won’t bother anyone.  It has one room and a kitchenette, which means there isn’t the problem of having two floors.  What is really thrilling is that it has a large outside area.  This will be a perfect place to play sports when the weather is better.  We are hoping of getting a large tent, God willing.
The building was once a bar, and is now a small church.  The Lord can truly do miracles.  The church is Baptist and the pastor’s name is Fonel.  He has agreed to let us use the building on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturday afternoons.  The plan is to have the youth center open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4pm to 9pm, and some Saturday afternoons, for sport events.  The reason we won’t have it open on Tuesdays is because that is when I lead the adolescents group at Betel.

The elders at Betel are pleased with the location of the youth center.  They stated that this could really be helpful to the small Baptist church.  This is encouraging to us.  It’s great to have elders who aren’t only interested in having their own church growth, but have a stronger desire to see the body of Christ grow!

We hope to be able to open the youth center in the middle of February.  The building’s heating system is being worked on and should be fixed in the next couple of weeks.  It has been extremely cold here in Romania.  Many days with it being below zero.
Pray for us as the rhythm of the youth center begins again.  Pray that those who came before and for new people to come.  The building is on a different side of town, then where it was before.  Pray also for dependable Christian volunteers who have a desire to reach adolescents.  How exciting to be a part of this ministry again.

Fausto:  The Lord has made it possible for me to do several other ministries as we were hunting for places for the youth center.  The church planting in Bod has been going slowly.  With the weather being so cold, people don’t want to leave their homes.  The team has been strategizing on how to reach out to more people.  They were able to find a sports tent to rent for a few hours a week.  This tent allows them to do indoor soccer even in the middle of winter.  Pray for the kids who come to play to be ready to hear the gospel and accept Christ as their Savior.

There is a Bible College called Vestia Buna (Good News) in Rotbav, about one hour from here.  The classes are every third weekend of the month.  I have been  asked to teach Romans and Galatians to the first year students; and Christian Life to the third year students.  Last month went very smoothly.  Please pray for me as I continue doing this ministry.  The students are very eager to learn.

The prison ministry has been cancelled.  The prison here in Codlea is being shut down for repairs.  All of the inmates will be moved to other prisons that are outside of Codlea.  Until it is reopened, I will not be preaching there.

I also continue to repair computers, fix electrical problems, etc. for neighbors.  This is a great opportunity to share Christ’s love.

Laura:  My women’s Bible study of the minor prophets will finish this month.  Now that I have taught it once and made corrections, I placed it on our webpage.  If it could be of use to you then you can download it.  There is one copy without answers and one with answers.  If you find this helpful or if you have suggestions on how to make it better, please let me know.

The Luke study is finished and translated.  Praise God for all of His help to me while writing the Luke study.  I always get a lot of joy studying His Word and creating a study that can be taught to others.  Please pray for the ladies to enjoy learning about God and will grow in their love for Him.  The verses we have to memorize, I will be memorizing in English and Romanian.  Pray for me!

The next study will be on the book of Acts.  Pray for God to give me His wisdom to understand His Word, and to key in on the other areas He wants me to spend time on.  Pray that I will also have a quiet and peaceful time to write the studies.  It’s hard to write the studies if you have constant interruptions.

Betel’s college group has asked me to teach the ladies about being a helper to your husband.  Pray for God to guide and direct me!  It is awesome that His Word says so much about it.  Pray that the ladies will see for themselves what God desires.  I have to admit it’s a humbling subject!

Home schooling is going very well.  The routine we have seems to be working well for all of us.  Mondays are especially hard.  It is our longest day and just all together more difficult.  If you would like to pray for me in regards to home schooling, I need it the most on Mondays.

Abigail was able to win second place in her piano class.  She practices very hard and strives to get first place.  She has a little bit of competitiveness in her blood.
Now that she is in the seventh grade the work is definitely harder.  Pray for her as she learns new concepts and writes more research papers.

Esther will turn 10 on February 17th.  She has reached the double digits!
Esther has been teaching her friend Rachel Bible studies.  Pray for the Word of God to reach the heart of Rachel.  Her parents are believers but their kids don’t attend church.  We have invited them to church with us, but it hasn’t worked out yet.

Isaiah will turn 8 on Februay 15th.  Our kids are growing up way too fast!
Isaiah still struggles with reading and writing.  Praise God he is improving.  It has been hard because of his dyslexia, but we strive on.  Pray for him to not get discouraged, which so far hasn’t happened.
